POZIV ZA STRUČNJAKE IZ ORGANIZACIJA CIVILNOG DRUŠTVA ZA PROCES ZAGOVARANJA U OKVIRU INICIJATIVE ''GRAĐANI ZA EVROPU''

''Građani za Europu'' su jedinstvena inicijativa nevladinih organizacija u Bosni i Hercegovini, čiju realizaciju podržava Specijalni predstavnik Europske unije Nj.E. Peter Sorensen, a finansira Kraljevina Švedske i SIDA.  Ovogodišnju, treću fazu implementacije predvodi  ekspertni tim Udruženja Vesta.
Tokom 2013. godine  ''Građani za Europu'' će  u skladu sa preporukama civilnog društva iz raniijh faza implementacije, voditi aktivan dijalog sa donosiocima odluka kako bi se intenzivirale aktivnosti na bosansko-hercegovačkom putu ka Europskoj uniji, te javnosti predočila ozbiljnost posljedica daljeg zaostajanja za zemljama u regionu.
Pod okriljem inicijative ''Građani za Europu'' biće odabrano do 15 tematskih stručnjaka iz organizacija civilnog društva, koji imaju stručno i profesionalno znanje i iskustvo iz oblasti:
• ruralni razvoj i poljoprivreda,
• rad i zapošljavanje,
• energija.
Odabrani tematski stručnjaci biće angažovani do 15 radnih dana u periodu april – novembar 2013.  po ugovoru o djelu sa detaljnim opisom posla i vremenskim okvirom.

Neophodne stručne kvalifikacije eksperta
• Minimalno univerzitetska diploma
• Odlično poznavanje engleskog jezika i  bosanskog/hrvatskog/srpskog  jezika
• Odlične komunikacijske vještine, uključujući taktičnost i diplomatičnost
• Odlično razumjevanje procesa integracije Bosne i Hercegovine u Europsku uniju
• Profesionalna posvećenost bosansko-hercegovačkom napredovanju ka Europskoj uniji
• Profesionalna određenost ka poštivanju rokova u okolnostima iznimnog pritiska i uključenosti više aktera
• Aktivno članstvo u vodećim organizacijama civilnog društva u regionu

Opšte profesionalno iskustvo
• Iskustvo u uspješnom vođenju i/ili predstavljanju glasa civilnog društva, u kontekstu aktivnosti i inicijativa civilnog društva, i poželjno u konkretnoj sektoralnoj temi
Specifično profesionalno iskustvo
• Najmanje dvije godine iskustva javnog i uspješnog artikuliranja glasa civilnog društva na visoko-profiliranim javnim događajima koji su uključivali više od 100 učesnika,  a posebno u kontekstu aktivnosti i inicijativa civilnog društva i poželjno na konkretnu sektoralnu temu
• Najmanje 3 godine iskustva  u konstruktivnom doprinosu diskusiji o konkretnim sektoralnim temama iz perspektive civilnog društva
• Minimalno jedna godina iskustva uske saradnje sa velikim brojem učesnika u projektu
• Uska saradnja sa vodećim grupama civilnog društva i članovima u BIH i regionu

This innovation award represents DSPD’s commitment to the promotion of people’s empowerment and social development globally. It is administered by DSPD as part of its mission to promote more equitable growth, seeks to identify innovative approaches for poverty eradication, social integration, full employment and decent work for all.

Eligibility

You can nominate yourself, or another person you admire who empowered you and therefore your unique and special story. Organizers truly believe that the major social challenges of our time can be solved only with the full participation of people at all levels of society.

How to submit a story

To submit your story, please complete the online form following 2 basic rules:

  1. – 1.000 words maximum for your written story (in English)

GRČKA - Program postdiplomskog studija iz jugoistočnih europskih studija /Master´s Degree Programme in Southeast European Studies / za akademsku 2013-2014.godinu

Fakultet političkih nauka i javne administarcije Nacionalnog i Kapodistrian univerziteta u Atini organizira jednogodišnji postdiplomski studij iz jugoistočnih europskih studija / Master´s Degree Programme in Southeast European Studies / u akademskoj 2013-2014.godini.

Program je organiziran na engleskom jeziku i nudi interdisciplinarno obrazovanje u društvenim naukama za 25 odabranih studenata iz cijele regije.

ERRC Seeks Interns

The European Roma Rights Centre (ERRC) invites applications for its full-time internship programme. The ERRC offers interns a dynamic, fast-paced, international human rights environment, based in Budapest, Hungary. Romani and non-Romani interns are chosen for this programme through a competitive bi-annual selection process. The ERRC is currently accepting applications from persons wishing to intern at the ERRC for 6 months starting between April-August 2013.

In line with its Equal Opportunity Policy, ERRC offers a limited number of stipends for full-time internships to Romani individuals only.

At the moment ERRC is looking for:

Communication Intern (one position)

Tasks

  • Implementing ERRC communications activities in close cooperation with the existing communications team
  • Detailed monitoring of news and information on Roma rights
  • Editing newsletter and writing articles and maintaining social media outlets
  • Assisting the editing and updating of the ERRC’s website
  • Keeping ERRC active on social media (Twitter, Facebook)
  • Updating and developing materials for the ERRC website
  • Helping maintain ERRC information databases
  • Performing miscellaneous tasks as they arise or as a specific interest develops.

Specific requirements

  • Interest and aptitude for communication with a proven record in communication work
  • Experience with news blogs, newsletter editing and open source content management systems
  • Computer skills. Graphic design and publishing skills are an asset.
  • Strong writing skills

Research and Advocacy Interns (two positions)

Tasks

  • Researching Roma rights related topics
  • Monitoring of stakeholders, policy-makers, think tanks, etc.
  • Drafting reports on human rights abuse
  • Attending meetings and events related to the mission of the ERRC and producing briefing documents
  • Engaging in advocacy efforts
  • Editing and translating texts (according to linguistic proficiency)
  • Performing miscellaneous tasks as they arise or as a specific interest develops.

Specific requirements

  • Relevant experience/ interest in the field of human rights
  • Good research skills
  • Good writing skills
  • Experience/interest in editing human rights reports, advocacy submissions, etc.

Human Rights Education Intern (one position)

Tasks

  • Assisting with research and training material development
  • Monitoring of stakeholders, policy-makers, think tanks, etc.
  • Assisting with planning trainings, workshops, and speaking engagements
  • Conducting background research and compiling resource lists for use in trainings and educational materials
  • Reviewing and assisting in updates and changes to the HRE webpage
  • Assisting with identifying and developing new partnerships
  • Assisting with developing and organising human rights activities within the ERRC Internship Programme (guest speakers, internal workshops, etc.)
  • Performing miscellaneous tasks as they arise or as a specific interest develops.

Specific requirements

  • Basic experience with human rights education and non-formal education methodologies
  • Good writing and organisational skills
  • Research experience and the ability to analyze data
  • Interest in any of the following areas:
  • Rights-based approaches
  • Human rights issues in Europe (especially economic, social, and cultural rights)
  • Minorities and diversity
  • Intercultural learning and global education
  • Experience of working with youth
  • Background in training within the European context

Legal Intern (one position)

Tasks

  • Legal research on specific topics
  • Assisting in preparing cases for litigation (organising / gathering evidence, proof-reading pleadings, etc)
  • Assisting in building and maintaining the ERRC’s case management systems
  • Assisting with planning trainings, workshops and speaking engagements
  • Conducting background research and compiling resource lists for use in legal trainings
  • Reviewing and assisting in updates and changes to the strategic litigation webpage
  • Editing and translating texts (according to linguistic proficiency)
  • Performing miscellaneous tasks as they arise or as a specific interest develops.

Specific requirements

  • Graduate or student in law
  • Knowledge of human rights law
  • Strong legal researching skills
  • Good writing and organisational skills

All Interns will be assisting in ERRC activities and projects, including logistically/administratively, and other tasks to be determined together with the Human Rights Trainer and/or the project-related supervisor. All interns will receive professional guidance and be directly supervised by the Human Rights Trainer. Interns will also work together with the other ERRC programmes, including research and advocacy, legal, media and communications, as well as finance, operations and executive management. Activities and tasks of interns shall include both theoretical learning and practical skills development components.

All Applicants should have:

  • Experience living in and/or working with Romani communities;
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken, is essential. Preference will be given to applicants who are able to work also in the following languages: Romani, Romanian, Slovak, Czech, Serbian, Macedonian, Italian, French, Russian, Turkish and Ukrainian;
  • At minimum, completed secondary education; university level studies preferred (required for Legal Intern);
  • The ability to work in a diverse, multicultural environment in a proper, timely fashion with supervision;
  • Good organisational and communication skills, commitment and enthusiasm;
  • Flexibility and the ability to work independently as well as in a team;
  • A proven track of activism in the Romani movement or human rights movement;
  • Project management interest; and
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Be a minimum of 20 years of age.

The ERRC encourages applications from individuals from all segments of society (including women, ethnic minorities, LGBT, disabled people, etc).

Romani individuals are strongly encouraged to apply for an internship stipend. For stipend recipients, the programme includes an in-country follow-up component. The ERRC and selected interns will work together to implement jointly community-based human rights initiatives (small research, advocacy or other related projects) in a Romani community as follow up to the time spent at the ERRC office. This component is optional but applicants expressing interest in the follow-up will be given priority in the programme.

The ERRC can provide relevant letters of support for prospective interns seeking to secure outside funding for the internship. Students may be able to arrange academic credit for their internship and should check with their academic institutions for requirements.

All interns are responsible for their own travel, subsistence and insurance arrangements; the ERRC can provide advice as necessary.
